PSYCHEDELIC DREAM TEMPLE -Flashback Sunshine-

(https://www.lukebrownart.com/)

Psychedelic Dream Temple -Flashback Sunshine-

Today’s update is about our art gallery /sub-stage Psychedelic Dream Temple. This geodesic event dome space can hold roughly a hundred people and decorated by the founder of the Psychedelic Dream Temple project, Jonathan West from South Africa.
It started as a gallery to exhibit psychedelic visual art pieces from around the world, including himself. Various workshops such as ecstatic dance, meditation, yoga as well as some of the kid’s space activities were held here during the day. During the evening it became a live performance space and we had some amazing jam sessions with guitarists, hang drum and didgeridoo performers. At night, it became a bar / sub-stage with DJ’s rocking the crowd. Something was always going on here and we wanted to make sure Jonathan’s art pieces got maximum exposure to the Sunshine audiences. His psychedelic touch makes each activity a dreamy, out-of-reality experience.
Let us include the most recent interview we had with Jonathan!!

Q: Please let us know the concept of the Psychedelic Dream temple?
Jonathan: The concept of the Dream Temple came from my desire to show the world Psychedelic visual art. I wanted to create a platform for artists to show their work all over the world and bring the joy of the creative experience to as many people as possible. My dream is to inspire as many people as I can to start creating art as I believe it is the most rewarding thing you can do.

Q: How did you start art? About psychedelic visual art as well.
Jonathan: I have loved making art since I was a little boy and attended art classes from the age of 10, then I went to an art school for my high school education. I moved to England when I was 20 and lived there for 8 years before moving back to South Africa.
I started to make Psychedelic visual art after meeting Luke Brown* at a festival in England when I was 20, the moment I saw Psychedelic art I knew it was what I was meant to be doing.
Luke Brown* Luke Brown is a Canadian-born psychedelic visual artist who works in acrylic, oil and digital media. He works energetically in acrylic, oil and digital media. (https://www.lukebrownart.com/

Q:Where was the first place you exhibited psychedelic visual art? You often participate galleries at the psy-trance festival don’t you? Let us know WHICH festival left an impression on you.
Jonathan: The first exhibition was at a small party in South Africa 7 years ago.
Yes, I have been very blessed to build galleries for festivals all over the world. Last year I made 16 galleries in Africa, Europe, South America and Japan. They all influence me in different ways; some of my favourite have been Sunshine, Origin, Modem, Masters of Puppets, Universo Paralelo and Ozora.

Q: A word to Sunshine fan’s?
Jonathan: I want to thank Sunshine fans for always making me feel so welcome, there are always so many smiles on the dance floor. It has such an incredible energy, I have made more good friends in Japan than any other country I have attended festivals at. I also think it is the festival that has the most attention to detail. I get so excited before I fly to Sunshine and I cannot wait to see you all again on the dance floor and in the Dream Temple.
Jonathan has moved to Portugal to create a gallery and he is giving lessons to those who want to learn how to create psychedelic visual art pieces. Stay tuned for his next masterpieces.
